# Workflows and Workflow Templates Overview

## Overview

Workflows are codified procedures for the steps to be taken within a [Case](/v1/docs/workflow-cases). Workflow Templates are System-level Workflows that are available to be copied into and used in Organizations. ThreatConnect® provides a set of Workflow Templates via TC Exchange™, and System Administrators may install System-level Workflow Templates. Users and administrators with the requisite permissions may also create Workflows from scratch.

The articles in this category demonstrate how to view and build Workflows on the **Workflows**tab of the **Workflow**screen, covering topics such as how to add and configure Tasks and Phases and how to define the [Artifacts](/v1/docs/artifacts) to be collected. It also describes how to view System-level and TC Exchange Workflow Templates available on the **Templates**tab of the **Workflow**screen and copy them into your Organization and how System Administrators can install Workflow Templates in their ThreatConnect instance. See [*Workflow Overview*](/v1/docs/workflow-overview) for a high-level overview of Workflow, including terminology and process flow.
