# The Playbook Designer Screen Overview

When a new Playbook is created, the **Playbook Designer** will open a tab displaying the Playbook’s name and [version number](/v1/docs/playbook-versions) above an interface consisting of a side navigation bar and a grid (i.e., the design pane) (Figure 1).
