# Shortcut Keys

Polarity Enterprise users can make use of system wide shortcut keys that make it easier to apply annotations, run an on-demand search of their clipboard contents, or toggle highlight mode on/off.

The shortcut key bindings are slightly different depending on the OS that you're using.

## Annotation Shortcut

**Windows & Linux**

- On Windows and Linux, you can highlight text and then quickly open the Annotate window with the shortcut key: CTRL + double tap "C"

**macOS**

- On macOS, you can highlight text and then quickly open the Annotate window with the shortcut key: Command + double tap "C"

## Focus Mode

**Windows & Linux**

- On Windows and Linux, you can toggle focus mode by using the shortcut key: CTRL + ALT + A

**macOS**

- On macOS you can toggle focus mode by using the shortcut key: Command +SHIFT+ U

## On-Demand Search Shortcut

**Windows & Linux**

- On Windows and Linux, you can highlight text and then quickly open the Annotate window with the shortcut key: CTRL + C (Hold 2 seconds)

**macOS**

- On macOS, you can highlight text and then quickly open the Annotate window with the shortcut key: Command + C (hold 2 seconds)

## Highlight Mode Shortcut

**Windows & Linux**

- On Windows and Linux, you can toggle the Highlight using the the shortcut key: CTRL + SHIFT + ?

**macOS**

- On macOS, you can toggle the Highlight using the the shortcut key: Command + SHIFT + ?
