Article summary

Change an Integration name, acronym, and description.

You may want to change the name, acronym, or description of an integration that you already have installed.  This is particularly useful when you're using an integration such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL or any other integrations that connect to data sources that can store a wide range of data.  By changing the name to something more specific, your users will be able to more easily identify the purpose and value of the integration.

If you are looking to install a second copy of an integration (which also involves changing the integration's name), see the below guide.

Change Name and Acronym in the Polarity UI

Admins can now very easily change the Name and/or acronym of the integration from the integration page within the Polarity UI.

An admin needs just to navigate to the integration they want to change the name of, click on "Settings" then click the edit key next to the name (the icon resembles a pencil).

Here, the admin can edit the Name, Acronym, and Description of an installed integration.

NOTE
After changing the name, acronym, or description of an integration it currently requires that the integration be restarted for the name change to be picked up by clients.
