# Apps

An [App](/v1/docs/parts-of-a-playbook) is a tool that is used to act on data provided by a Trigger or another App within the Playbook. Click the ![Icon Description automatically generated](https://cdn.document360.io/dfc206c8-1c9f-4725-b74d-a66f83432320/Images/Documentation/apps-image-u44cmknz.png)**Apps** button on the side navigation bar to open the **Apps** pane, displaying a list of the 15 App categories and the Apps in each category (Figure 1).
