The PolarityCE Advanced Settings window now contains the PolarityCE Desktop Client Advanced Settings.
This window contains four tabs, discussed in this section: Ignore Manager, Logging, Recognition Settings, and Shortcut Keys.
You can navigate to the Advanced Settings Window in multiple ways depending on which OS you are running:
Windows / Linux:
System Tray:
Navigate to the system tray.
Right click on the Polarity icon.
Select Advanced Settings.
Polarity Overlay Menu:
Open the Polarity Overlay.
Click in the Polarity icon in the top left.
In the dropdown menu that appears select Advanced Settings.
macOS:
macOS menu Bar:
Navigate to the macOS menu bar.
Click on the Polarity icon.
Select Advanced Settings.
Polarity Overlay Menu:
Open the Polarity Overlay.
Click in the Polarity icon in the top left.
In the dropdown menu that appears select Advanced Settings.
Polarity Community Edition Desktop Client Advanced Settings options are only available via the Polarity Community Edition Client and cannot be accessed from the Web interface. Changes made to the settings below do not affect other users.
Configuring Shortcut Keys
From the Polarity Overlay settings menu bar:
Click on Advanced Settings window.
Click on the Shortcut Keys tab.
Here users can customize the shortcut key bindings for running an On-Demand search of their system clipboard’s contents.
To customize your shortcut keys, click on Edit then select the input and type in the desired shortcut key combination.
All shortcut keys must start with a modifier key (SHIFT, CTRL, Command, etc.) and each binding can contain up to three keys.
If you decide to change the default key bindings, not starting the sequence with "CTRL+C" will prevent text from being copied to the clipboard.
It is currently not possible to create a custom key binding that involves a "Hold".
If you change the On-demand shortcut from CTRL+C (Hold) to ALT+C+C, the entity queried will not be the text that you selected but will be whatever was last saved to your clipboard.
To reset key bindings to their factory default settings, click on “Revert to Default”.
Logging Settings
Here users can adjust various event logging settings. To get to this page from the Polarity Configuration Window's menu bar:
Click on Window.
In the dropdown list that appears, click on Advanced Settings.
Click on the Logging tab.
Logging Level
There are six different logging levels to choose from:
Trace Only - Logs detailed Trace events only (without any other levels).
Trace - Most verbose option. Logs high level Debug, Info, Warning and Error events in addition to Trace events.
Debug - Logs high level Debug, Info, Warning and Error events only.
Info - Logs Info, Warning and Error events only. (This is the default setting)
Warning - Logs Warning and Error Events only.
Error - Logs Error Events only.
Sanitize data in log files
Enable this option to redact username and email addresses info from Polarity Desktop Client logs.
Pretty Print logs
Enable this option to have log events split into separate lines and have the text details indented. If disabled, logs will be printed in a single, continuous block of text.
Ignore Manager
